The Emerald is on Hat Nopparat Thara. It faces south so we get sun all day and spectacular sunset.
At the high water you can swim off the beach in front of the resort. At low tide you can swim in the river at the eastern end of the beach.

Nice location and staff very helpful in a very quiet area. The only thing is the location it is rather cut off from the nearest towns. Krabi town is about an hours drive and Aonang is about 20 minutes drive.
We stayed three nights at the emerald bungalow resort. The room and the food was good. The beach is very nice because there are only a few small resorts in this area. So it is not that packed as the other beaches in Ao nang, which is the big tourist area around. In the evening you can take very nice walks on the beach in the moonlight, that is very romantic and beautiful.
The best part about this place is the beach. There are not many resorts in this area so we practically had the whole beach to ourselves even though it was the super holiday season when we were there (29 Dec to 1 Jan 2015). The waters were very calm and clean, and had none of the long tail boats coming and going like in Ao Nang or Railay so, having a dip in the sea was a really wonderful experience.
We stayed with Kiat at The Emerald Bungalow over Christmas 2014. We loved the private beach that never had more then 4 people on it. Every other beach we went to was overflowing with tourists. The rooms are modest but clean & comfortable. We opted for the air conditioned room and it was nice to escape the heat! Kiat was incredibly knowledgable about the area.
